| Custom Driveshaft Help!
Hey guys, I built a custom 8x8 that uses a traxxas summit transmission and scx10 axles the problem is the output shaft for the summit transmission is not a 5mm yoke like the scx10 axles are. Does anyone make adapters to convert yoke sizes? Or does anyone have any idea how I should make a driveshaft with two different size yokes? |

The summit outputs are 6mm, depending on driveshafts you can drill or pick up the corresponding hub.

MIP makes driveshafts for the 6mm output. You might see if you can just get the yoke. Then you could use the driveshafts with the 5mm output and swap out just the yoke.

Why not just use summit shafts then?

The older tmaxxs (2.5 model) used a 5mm on the trans output and a 6mm on the pinion shaft. The major problem is they are plastic yokes so you'll have to drill your outputs for a grub screw.

Search something along the lines of "Maxx shafts made easy" to see pics of how to drill out the stock Revo-style plastic yokes to fit a cut-down steel Axial yoke inside of it to fit the 5mm pinion shaft. That would be the cheap way. The best way would be to buy a set of MIPS and then the seperate 6mm outputs. |
