SCX10 Shocks Build

So my friend asked me to build him a really nice set of SCX10 Shocks for one of his Comp rigs so here's what I am building for him...

Parts list:

~RCBros Eggressor Shock Bodies
~RCBros Aluminum Shock Caps
~Notch Eight Designs SCX Shock Collars
~Jeepindoug Springcups
~Titanium Shock Shafts
~Axial Machined Pistons
~Traxxas Shock Rebuild kit TRA2362 (2)
~HPI 9x3.5mm Shock Bladder HPI87065

These Aluminum Shock caps are super nice really good machining perfect fit just like all RCBros products "thumbsup"

First thing I did was drill out the shock caps for bleeding the shocks.

Next I installed the HPI Shock Bladders in the caps.

Finished shock caps

Next thing were the shock bodies from RCBros. Like the shock caps amazing machine and everything is perfect on them.

Installing the Traxxas Shock kit was easy except the C-Clips :ror:

Small thin plastic washer
Xring seal
Thick white spacer
Xring Seal
Large thing plastic washer
C-clip

Put the Caps and collars on the shocks and they are done for now just waiting on the Ti Shafts and Machined Pistons.

The Notch Eight Shock collars are super nice. They have a nice snug fit over the shock bodies and you can get them in different colors "thumbsup"

Time for an update...

Shafts finally showed up after spending almost 4 weeks en route to me... The fit and finish on these is amazing and they are super smooth "thumbsup"

I got them and installed the Axial Machined Pistons on them which went on easily and fit perfectly.

Next I installed them and filled the shocks with oil and bled them... I installed the Jeepindoug spring cups and MRC Silver Springs. (Didn't have Mini-T Silvers)

Sorry I don't... I would if I had a scale that weighs in grams  The guy I built these for came and picked them up and we installed them on his XR... They replaced the Big Bores he was running on there and now the shocks are buttery smooth "thumbsup"

Do you have a ball bark on the cost of them?

Re: SCX10 Shocks Build

The shock bodies alone are near $100. This is definitely not a cheap route for shock absorbers

^ you're right! it's been a while since I looked at this option. The shock bodies used to be $45 per pair (on sale). I remember because I was given $100 from my parents for my birthday and looked to buy a set all four would have wiped out my cash. I decided to go another route.

Yep :) It's great that they are much cheaper now... I'm going to be building one or 2 sets for myself of these now... It's also nice having Will only 1 hr away from me...
