Default JUST BREATH- scale is intence!!

I've been into RC for years, Short coarse , boats, Crawling. My intrest now is only Crawling and boats ,in that order.I've had a AX-10 for years and love it, but over the years i've seen and have become interested in the ''SCALE'' aspect of the sport. So I bought SCX-10 G6 .The kit was great,I loved building it, great satisfaction doing it yourself. I tinkerd with it every chance I could. The problem I find with "SCALE" is everything has to be perfect ,at least in my mind.We all know nothing can be that way, and its tuff trying to make it happen.Sometimes I think we need to let the imperfections go and just "RUN THE CRAP" out of these things.I spent days for example trying to get some shocks to stop leaking,WE ALL HAVE ITS CRAZY!!!!Green Slime, 3 o-rings, this that and some will still leak,"oh my this guys nuts!! Anyway for me spending top dollar on the best upgrades and having everything just perfcect still dosent compare to just getin out there with a stock piece of crap.Sometimes less might be more,I know someone who has such a high end truck and it works so well it almost takes the fun and challenge out of it.This is a tough and intence aspect of the RC world .

I use to spend a ton on the best available parts to make my rigs the best looking and the best performing.. And I'm burned out!!

I'm a cheap ass now, I buy ok parts and drive it like I stole it! I have more fun now and my wallet is happy!

I just get by with ok parts and diy mods and I am completely happy with it. I use to spend top dollar on my go fast race rcs back when I was young dumb and single. I got so obsessed with having all the best and newest stuff I forgot to have fun with them. Its kinda sad when you think about it.
Granted I have yet to compete with either my ax10 or scx10 but I have plenty of fun with them.

I still buy top shelf and am working on my fab skills. But when it is built...hammer down! What is the point in having top notch equipment if you don't pound on it?!?

Dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with buying top notch upgrades, but sometimes we should'nt feel we need the latest greatest gadgets to be competitive and to keep up with the guy down the street.Getting back to the grass roots of the sport may be better for some of us than thinking what do I have to buy next, and is my rig perfect.
