I agree with Lemon.... just get after it.

Here is what I am calling "phase 1" of my course. It's pretty flat but plenty to get into. I will turn the landscaping on the other side of my pool into phase 2/3/4... I am a newb, for sure so hopefully someone with more experience can provide some guidance.

About to make a backyard course - any tips would be appreciated.

AXLE 69 has a post here dated 10-13-13 "Crawling fun on my backyard course", you might get some ideas from him too.

That is a nice setup you have there dude!

Here is about 30 minutes worth of setting rocks up around the backyard. Unlimited supply of this size but only so much space to use it in lol!

I buy large rocks (30 to 100lbs each) from landscaping and pond suppliers for about $0.10 per pound. You can push them around and stack them to create an endless variety of lines. I stack the rocks on a flattened mound of small gravel. You can shovel the gravel into piles, using it as filler to stack rocks on. This keeps you from having to bury nice rocks under your pile to hold others up. Also, the gravel molds and conforms to uneven surfaces so your rocks won't rock or shift.

I have a bunch of rocks from different sources and just move them around from week to week. Don't make anything too permanent because after you drive it 100x you'll want to change it. Motorcycle ramps make great bridges.

Here is my latest. Nothing fancy. It's been raining a lot here and I Fk'n hate mud so I set up the pop-up canopy.
