Default How to free up seized screws

Not sure if this is the right place for this thread, but if not, feel free to move it to the right one. Here's a great tip that my dad has been doing for years. If you have a seized screw, nut, bolt, or if you have a bearing stuck on the axle, this will get them off every single time. All you need is beeswax and a mini torch. (I use the Hobicco mini torch.) first step is to heat up the screw or whatever is stuck, and touch the beeswax to it and let a little bit melt onto the screw. Put the torch on the screw and allow the wax to seep into the threads. After that, the screw or nut will come loose and you will be able to get it off. Melted beeswax has a smaller molecular compound than oil such as wd40 or bearing oil, allowing it to get into tighter spaces. Hope this helps!

I saw this used in a tool and die shop I worked at years ago...it really does work

Here's another good tip: RED thread lock: touch a soldering iron to the screw/bolt...get it nice and hot...then remove.

I've used it to remove rusted exhaust bolts on a truck before, never thought to use it on RC parts, I'd be afraid of melting something.

As mentioned, use a soldering iron if you need to control heat.

I never tried that. Sounds like the cause of the problem though jk. but I'll give it a shot sometime

I've heard red thread lock needs to be around 400* to let loose.
