| Good spares to bring to a comp?
Going to a G6-esque event at the end of may (STEG6 in ontario), and as it's 7-8h of trail running throughout the day, I'm thinking that it might be a good idea to buy some spare parts just in case. As such, would anyone have any recommendations for commonly broken parts on a SCX 10? I already have metal links and steering linkage, but the drivetrain, etc is all stock. thanks! |

I usually bring knuckles, c hubs, spur gears, and a spare servo. Just bring with you whatever you have broken in the past, plus what I listed here. That should get you through the comp!

I'd say switch over to 32p spur and pinion, upgrade your driveshafts to at least the Crawler a innovations Maxx shaft upgrade, or carry spare WB parts. A bunch of extra rod end and hex pins would be smart as well. If you are running plastic knuckles and chubs, you'll definitely want spares of those. Not g6 specific, but those are stuff that I would recommend for any outing. |

along with things that can break, bring an assortment of hardware, grub and pin screws, spare pinion/spur, spare hex pins, rod ends, stuff like that. it's nice to have shop rags and/or a big towell to keep your parts on if your in the middle of the woods doing a repair. its awful easy to put something down and never find it again. |

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll start stocking up. Any suggestions as far as shorter than normal metal driveshafts? I'm currently running custom shortened stock ones as i have a 10.5in wheelbase atm. |

I might suggest a small magnetic tray for keeping hardware in if you need to do a trail repair.

or don't waste money on spares for parts that break and spend the money on beef so you don't need to carry a bunch of spare parts.
