Default recoating conformal coating interval and electronics Q's

I just started using use MG Chemicals 422B conformal coating and was wondering how often I should recoat it? I know a few guys use this stuff so what is your interval if any?

Also, the fan on my MMP never comes on. I know it is designed to kick on at 150 and it is thermal controlled, but all of the other MMP's I have had always turned the fan on as soon as I plug the battery in. Then after arming it it would turn the fan off. Im not sure what temps I am seeing but today after a 2 hour run I started to smell the hot electronics smell. My motor (ROC 412 3100kv) was cool all day long, and even the MMP only felt warm at best. Maybe it isnt an issue and Im paranoid lol. What do you guys think?
