I like the Deadbolt body, like the scx-10, but this lack of real variety and change is....sad. It's not junk, just painfully lacking in new ideas. I'm sure it will sell and it's NOT a Jeep at least.

Ae-5 waterproof and 3s capable withe the 27t motor and 48 20 gearing must be trying for the fast scale crawler.

Disappointed is the term I believe. I'm looking for another truck to add to the collection, and was hoping for a new Wraith variety at least. Tower Hobbies now has 7 scx10's for sale

I think it's a better use for that body than the current AX10 version.

I agree, the Deadbolt AX10 was a complete flop (literally about all they did when you ran them). The body was good looking, but misplaced on a non-scale rig.

I actually wished that body came on the scx10 first. I think its a great body. It just got put on the wrong rig first. +1 on the not another jeep. But a new platform is needed.

I love the SCX10 platform. Its been said 1243038 times before; it has a ton of aftermarket support, lots of used rigs out there for parts or something to start with, and easy to work on. What I dont like are the same Jeep bodies with different stickers. I'd love to see another truck body, lexan or hard plastic, maybe someday we will.

i think this release offers a lot more than people think: new waterproof ESC that's capable of 3S, updated HD driveshafts, dual slipper clutch, and 32P gears. who really gives a shit about the body? not like it's hard to change out...

is it ground-breaking? not really, but at least Axial is bringing us new stuff.

No comments on the price? This is Axial's first RTR at/under $300

I am really excited about this one. Lots of good features at a great price.

I knew it would NOT be a Jeep truck... but then I new people would be calling Axial ==> Traxxas. All the while they are selling more rigs than anybody else. Funny how that works out.

Also, I agree with 4RunnerKid that you get some pretty decent electros on this thing.

Coming from a background of rc tanks and hanging out on another forum this type of thing happens all the time. A product is released and haters will hate, there will always be a flip side to that coin. Do I think they need new bodies.......sure. But also coming from a background of 1:1 jeeps, I absolutely love the jeep bodies. In the rc tank community people say all the time what they want and expect from a certain company, and when it isn't released.......oh boy.
Maybe sell a bodiless kit, and have a line of different bodies to choose from. If the scx10 platform isn't broke why fix it? And maybe they are working on something different.......and I can guarantee it won't make everyone happy. And as 4Runnerkid stated there are upgrades in this.....and if that quoted price stays the same, that is a great deal.

Cheers,
Wade

I am interested though, in how the new driveshafts hold up, and ae-5

I will say, that some nice true beadlocks on their new products would be nice

honestly there is no real need for axial to come out with something new and ground breaking when they already have a proven platform that works and there are already plenty of aftermarket suppliers out there to make these rigs better. once you buy an scx10 your options are endless to what you want to do with it
