Holmes Hobbies motor wires problem!! Hello! I need clarification regarding if is ok to invert the ESC cables that go to the motor. I just got a new Holmes Hobbies motor, and after connecting the wires the same as with the factory motor (black/black & red/white) now forward is reverse and rev is fwrd. In order to correct this I had to switch the cables. Is it ok to do this? |
Re: Holmes Hobbies motor wires problem!! It is but you'll want to make sure your timing is correct. If it was advanced at all, it will now be retarded. |
Re: Holmes Hobbies motor wires problem!! Ok, I have to say, it does have a lot more power than the stock motor. And yes I had requested for it to be 6 degrees advanced . So how do I check to make sure that the timing is not retarded? |
Re: Holmes Hobbies motor wires problem!! http://www.holmeshobbies.com/blog/wp...ed-endbell.jpg The 0 on your can should be between the 0* and 12* as shown in the above picture. If so, loosen the endbell and just turn it the opposite way past 0 about the same amount. Your motor should spin faster one way. That's the direction with advanced timing. |
