Holmes Hobbies motor wires problem!!

Hello! I need clarification regarding if is ok to invert the ESC cables that go to the motor. I just got a new Holmes Hobbies motor, and after connecting the wires the same as with the factory motor (black/black & red/white) now forward is reverse and rev is fwrd. In order to correct this I had to switch the cables. Is it ok to do this?

It is but you'll want to make sure your timing is correct. If it was advanced at all, it will now be retarded.

Ok, I have to say, it does have a lot more power than the stock motor. And yes I had requested for it to be 6 degrees advanced . So how do I check to make sure that the timing is not retarded?

The 0 on your can should be between the 0* and 12* as shown in the above picture. If so, loosen the endbell and just turn it the opposite way past 0 about the same amount.

Your motor should spin faster one way. That's the direction with advanced timing.
