Default What grease to use in shocks

Hi, I bought a new set of Sawback Shocks from a member but it did not come with the grease. What type of grease should I use which is safe on the O rings.

Thanks
Prem.

Green Slime

This is the most popular among the racers I know. I have never greased anything before I assemble, I just oil the o rings before I put them together.

And just to clarify, your not wanting to pack the shock with grease?

Well no. The sawback shocks are oil less shocks and it comes with a grease. I received them without it. I just don't want to put the wrong type incase it damages the O rings.

My bad.

I would say damn near any grease should be ok in that application. I have been using the same jar of Redline synthetic grease for the last 8 years. It does not swell o rings that I have seen.

Just a quick question. Are these shocks any good? Except for the old crappy tamiya friction shocks I have never used oiless shocks.

Will let you know this weekend. I will assemble them and test them out. I like them cause the springs are soft. Since the springs are internal, they were meant to be used with leafs. I will however use them as a semi droop set up.

It still blows my mind that so many manufacturers that make scale rigs (ESPECIALLY Axial) can't make oil-filled shocks that DON'T leak!!!! But, I've heard that some friction shocks actually work well for trail running applications.

As for your question, another suggestion is silicone grease. Shouldn't attack the rubber o-rings (as many shock oils are silicone-based).
