Axial Wrangler CR Giveaway

Receiving a lot of complaints and nasty messages about the Axial Wrangler CR Giveaway. The messages mostly are in response to having received a warning for entering the giveaway without having a star. Most messages seem to begin with the excuse that they entered the Giveaway only because they received an email telling them to enter, and that they wouldn't have entered if they didn't get the email telling them to enter.

Not quite, its an email to put out the news to all RCCrawler registered members that there is an existing Giveaway going on for a great prize!

Yes, when you originally registered you opted to receive emails from the administrator, otherwise you wouldn't have received the email at all.

Occasionally the administrator will send out enticer emails for giveaways.

Supposed to be....
A registered member to rccrawler.com receives and views the email,

They then hopefully come and log in to the forum,

Where they then read post #1 of the giveaway,

The first post in every giveaway will describe the rules & details to that specific giveaway.
(Additional rules about giveaways are found in the forum rules in the lime green words Forum Rules of the forum toolbar atop every page)
RCCrawler.com Bulletin Board - Forum Rules
(with a link therein to even more specific giveaway rules)
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/gener...tml#post485314
At that point if unaware of the existing giveaway rules, the person then sees that a star is required to enter the giveaway. (As it is in all RCC giveaways unless otherwise specified).
And then.... It's then up to you whether or not the giveaway email has enticed you enough to donate a few bucks and grab yourself a membership star and take a chance with an entry in the giveaway.

The warning is no big deal against you or your account.
It's mostly to remind you that you have posted in a giveaway that requires a membership star to be elidigable to enter & win and that your post has been deleted and if you want a chance to win, you will need to grab a star and re-enter.

For anyone without a star and needing one

you can grab a star of your choosing here

Grab a star and enter for a chance to win if you wish,
But please don't send me or other moderators nasty messages because you've received a warning for not following the forum rules and having entered a giveaway without first having a star

Good Luck to all!"thumbsup"

Re: Axial Wrangler CR Giveaway

I got that email, seemed clear enough to me.
I have let my star go & I cannot enter.
I actually thought a bit about whether or not it was a signal to buy a star again so I can enter.

Conclusion should be obvious.

Sorry so many could not read or think & you had to post this.

Give the mods a break!

Reading the rules and all fine print is key. Pretty much goes for everything in life.
Having a star is pretty much standard for all give aways on rccrawler.com.

It's as simple as that.

Hey, at least they are trying to enter a current giveaway and not the Twelve Days of Christmas from 3 years ago.:lmao:

Buy a damn star people. Support the site that always gives back to it's supporters. It's 20 damn dollars. That's only $1.6666666666666666666 a month.

And I swear, I've already seen two new members trying to boost their post count this week. And I've politely told them "only X more posts to go and you're there" :lmao:

Absolutely. This is a well controlled place for all of us to learn and hang out. 20$ a year is a small price to pay to have the ability to enter giveaways and play in the " for sale " section.

Don't forget pics directly posted to rcc instead of another site and then pasting a link into the reply.

Since the sheeple these days do things they are told without thinking twice about it, send them an email telling them to deposit their paycheck in your account, you might get rich. "thumbsup"

It would perhaps be nice if there, in a simple way, could be two different mails going out; one for star holding members and one for those without a star (telling them to get one for the ability to participate in the lotteries).

I don' think that should matter. Of the member (paid or not) should at least read the entire first post of a giveaway to recognize that they are for stR holding members. For non-paying members to whine about it later, it just ridiculous.

That's why, if I host a giveaway, I typically ask for the entrant to post something very specific. That way, those who pay attention to the first post, have a better chance of winning.

Yes, everybody should (or better: must) read the first post of any giveaway.
The problem is that no newbie gets to know that unless they actually do read the first post!

Therefore it should be stated in some form of short forum introduction sent to all new members. (It's not enough to have it in the longer "forum rules", that is mostly the same as any other forum, but should be in some form of "quick advice" on what to do rather than what's forbidden.

It could cover the top three newcomer issues(*) or so, not more than that.
(*) How to see the classifieds. How to post pics. How to enter a giveaway.

Thanks for the hard work mods & admins.

I've only been on RCC for just shy of two years...
I quickly saw the benefit of the forum, and that as far as internet forums are concerned there is far above average expertise and willingness to politely share and guide here.

As long as I'm involved in RC I'll likely maintain my star here @ RCC.

I love this place too! I have noticed the evil side too but it has more positives than negatives. :) It is good to have moderators that discipline us all for infractions. I have been guilty a few times.....ooooooops. :) I am learning!!

If possible, can I be emailed separately and be notified when to enter so that my post is picked?

Thanks, I appreciate it "thumbsup"
