Default Axial currie axles?

I think the VP currie axles good looking axles.

But who want to see axial come out with a plastic version of currie axles? Or at very aleast production scx10 width ar60's?

chit chat and off topic post will be deleted

I would love to see an Axial produced SCX width AR60.
The removable diff cover makes set screw type lockers much easier to set up.
Maybe even with XR steering and keeping it within the SCX width.

I'd love to see a set of more affordable curries on the market, axial has the base to start with, take the standard ar60 and make a few minor changes and currie it is. They could start it with a single width (scx) or have factory options to allow us to narrow the stance would be huge. Similar to the VP setup just separate the differential housing and shafts to allow for multiple widths...... I know I'd be all over them as well as many others.

The initial cost to axial would be high for molds and dies etc but I believe this would be made up in no time due to the amount of sales of axles alone not including if they used them in kits.

What be cool and maybe easy for axial for production stand point is make the center section and then xr, wraith, scx10 width tubes that bolt in. If axial wanted to keep costs, VP already has after parts.

But that probably what stopping them initial cost of tooling, molds.

I think it's a good idea and would be worth the investment.

Cutting ar60 is really easy. I have made two sets into xr width. Ax would be just as easy

I have looked into trying that, but in all honesty i'm afraid to try it.
Are they as durable after the mod at the glue points as a one piece axle?

SCX-10 width AR60 type axles are something I really though that Axial would do on the latest round of the "scale" jerps. Offset front and centered rear would take the realism to a new level.

This what got me thinking about this thread.

But like mentioned it not cheap to setup production for a new line of axles housings.

And I think it would kill there standard ax10 case. But it sure would be great.

I've been wanting this for a long time to the point I get a friend making me custom tubes to bolt to the ar60 chunk. All I want is a diff cover.

The plastic housings aren't all that difficult to narrow in a way that is strong and appealing, but it takes access to a lathe to do it right. I'm about 75% done with making a narrow set for my big Jeep. Once they are assembled, you would never know that the long tube was narrowed 3/4" unless you held it next to an uncut axle.

Yes, yes, yes... but maybe between XR and SCX width.

I would love a scx10 width ar60 style axle. I love my narrowed ar60's. As previously mentioned it makes adjusting set screw lockers super easy and the plastic just slides so nice =)

I'd love to see it as well - the AR60 is just far easier to work on than the AX10 axle.

I remember reading an interview somewhere where the Axial rep was talking about developing a 4 piece sliding mold for the AR60 axles. Could not have been cheap to design or make compared to the standard molded AX10 cases.
