Default 27t through a DDK - to much?

I accidentally ordered a 27 HH tourqemaster pro with my combo, think its gonna get too hot running through a DDK with a 14t pinion and UD/OD axles? (3s)

Yes I would guess it will get too hot. I eneded up dropping mine down to a 2000kv outrunner to end up getting where it felt decent. The gearing is just not deep enough without a tiny pinion.

I was afraid of that, time to play musical motors I guess! Thanks Harley!

I am running a 7t pinion with the super shafty 40t big gear in the gr7 and a 35t, runs great nice and cool. First tried a 13t with a 12t pinion and almost smoked the motor from over gearing.

Just curious, does the 27t being a HH puller change this equation any? (I'm still not all that educated about the motor)
