Default Axial wraith kit

Just ordered my wraith kit today wondering I'd it comes with metal transmission gears or any other good up grades ordered all the aluminum upper links and metal c hubs and knuckles and lockouts and also the metal servo steering any other upgrades suggested putting a 4000kv brushless syst in it

Go to the Wraith section and read the sticky's at the top to start with.

A 4000KV is really fast for a Wraith and I hope that it is sensored. A sensorless motor is not suitable for a Wraith in general. Go look at that section and read those threads, all the info you need is in the first page of each thread.

I disagree with that. I've been running a sensorless long can 2200kv 4 pole on 3s in mine and its been doing just fine. Granted I can't do any fine crawling maneuvers, but its not horrible.

Blah! With low KV you can hide it but not what I would call a "good" choice, especially with anything 540.

I've seen and crawled with the sensorless big motors, and while they get the job done, running next to the sensored stuff there is a pretty huge difference. It would drive me nuts to drive sensorless.

My 1.9 Wraith runs a 13.5 Novak on 3s with the sensor lead disconnected. Its surprisingly smooth.

If you use Novak in your argument it is automatically discredited!

I'm sticking by my opinion that you are a crazy person Sensorless is for go-fast, sensors are mandatory for us!

I got it in a trade and had nowhere else to put it.

I'm not going to say that it runs buttery smooth like a good brushed setup, but it does a lot better than I expected it to do.

IMO the ESC makes the biggest difference...

The Wraith kit does not come with HD transmission gears.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Upgrade to Robinson Racing metal gears for the trans.

Also, either do the "bolt mod" for the driveshafts or upgrade to some MIP's

As for as the power plant goes. What kind of budget do you have?

I have a flux esc and vapor 4000 kv brushless motor but I need a motor that has a 5mm shaft so it can take some abuse 3mm don't last in most of mine

3mm shafts work just fine in these things. A Tekin ROC 412 3100 KV with a sensored setup is the best setup to date that I have seen. About as fast as a Wraith can be while still be usable while crawling with the same setup.

The Flux system is not a good choice for a Wraith unless you just plan to buzz around in the dirt.

You know I will crawlife. I have had 5 motors all with 3mm shafts break/shear off because they can't take the abuse or heat that builds on the pinion all where in 4 wheel drives that happened over last summer heck I am still waiting on them to come back from the company

Alright hit a stopping point using the stock lower links but waiting for my metal upper links to come in. So want to start the transmission but want to install the metal gears in side that before I button up the drive train. So I guess I want to do the roll cage and body. I already want the battery to sit in front and I want to have the hood open so what to do spray the roll cage neon green and let it sit over night or put it all together and then spray the roll cage hmmm
