Default What's the difference between ultimate yota I & II

What's the difference other than the dual arm knuckle, replaceable diff cover, and $10??? I see they both use the same diff gears but are the axle shafts different? The yota II shafts stronger? Is it worth the extra $10 for the replaceable diff cover and dual arms I probably won't use anyway or are they actually stronger/better axle?? Anyone experienced with the two any input appreciated! Thanks

There pretty much the same besides the differences you mentioned. IMO just having the removable diff cover is worth the extra 10.00, having to completely tear apart the truck to grease the axles is a pain, and the yota II's have smaller dia. axle tubes.

From my experience....

The pros:

Steering is better with the yota 2, king pin inclination, dual output optional, more detailed housing.

The cons:

King pin inclination, steering arms are weak (I snapped one in a very mild tumble), king pin bolts barely thread into housing and strip easily(I recommend installing helicoils).

That right there pisses me off... if I had known about it beforehand I don't know that I would have bought a Gelande II.

I like alot of RC4WD's stuff and am not trying to bash on them but the finished product usually fall short in critical areas. Hate to say it again but poor engineering right there.

I only had mine for a few month before I sold the toy they where on. but I had no problems with them, other than sloppy king pin bushings.

being able to run the tie rod behind the axle was nice. was a little sketched on running a brood onslaught motor with them at first. but after I stalled the motor out a few times from being all bound up, I had no second thoughts on hammering on them.
