Default Change of Pinon Gear Size ?

Change of Pinon Gear Size ?
My scale trail truck is very slow was just asking how high of a pinon gear I could put in and sill have Lot's of torque.
The truck is a Rc4wd Trail Stomper with the stock R-2 Single Speed transmission.
Upgraded with Rc4wd D-40 Axles & a Tekin T45 Motor / 8t pinon - 32p gears.
I was thinking about putting in a 10t to a 12t pinon gear ?
Or should I go with a little higher gear like a 14t pinon, Would I sill have Lot's of torque ?

its a trade off. the bigger pinion you use the more wheelspeed you will get, but at the result of less torque and higher motor/esc heat.

i would say get a range of pinions, say a 10, a 12, and a 14, and see which one you like better. going from an 8 to a 14t pinion is going to be a very noticable change, while a 8 to a 10t wont be as severe and just give you a little bit more wheelspeed.

Thank You, (badhoopty) for info on the pinon size, I will try a 12t
And will post of how it worked out.
My truck is a beast it Weighs 11 1/2lb. with the 6 cell battery / reinforced clod body / & 3oz's
of weight in each wheel. ~ That's why I need to retain a lot of torque to climb hills.

I assume that's not a six cell (6S) LiPo battery, right?

Running a 45T motor on 7V will give you low speed no matter what. It just won't deliver enough power to go fast.

If you want some speed from that motor your first step should be to use (at least) a 3S LiPo battery. That will give you more than doubled motor power.
Then you can up the gearing a bit to make more use of that added power.
