My Locked Up RC spools have taken a beating this season between all our comps, trail runs and the first Axial Eastcoast G6. They have not had a single issue.

Why would universal shafts have a different locker?

Has to do with running universal axle shafts and full lock steering situations. Universal's rotate in an elliptical pattern and its best if they are lined up. If not, you can have some issues with each front tire(universals) rotating in different patterns. It is really seen in the 1:1 world.
So, phased lockers fix all that and get both uni's in sync.

I have been noticing my 4WS XTV crawler rig exhibiting some of this rotation issue while full lock front and rear. So, I will probably try a set before too long. Dialing back the EPAs can help. Remember, this is for universal shafts, CVDs are CVDs.

JRH can probably explain it better than me.

Or a wraith uni, like I run. I would say yes but again, I have limited knowledge but I do think I understand the concepts.

Interesting maybe I will get a set for my shortened xr10 unis in my scx curries. DOes it matter which one is used in the rear?

I don't think there are any true cvd's on the market. Mip cvd's are just inside out unis, cvd is their trademarked brand name and nothing more.

Out of phase unis will cause a shimmy at full lock and higher speeds. Don't think many people would ever notice or need phased ones, but we made a few to test the waters.
