Default glitching help...

Hey guys I have been building crawlers for about 7 years and I thought I was pretty smart... My nephew has an older axial ax10 scorpion with the old fm crystal radio and receiver and it was glitching really bad last weekend during a trail run. I swapped the receiver out for a newer am transmitter radio from my honcho and it still glitches just not as bad. I swapped out the servo thinking that was the problem, no difference... It does ok going straight but when you turn, or put pressure on the drive train such as climbing, it glitches to the point of no control almost. I really need help here guys....

AM and FM systems have gone out with cd's, no wonder you're getting glitches. Time for 2.4g man.

Sometimes the best thing to do is swap in electronics one at a time to figure out which part is bad. Don't forget to put in a battery that you know is good. Occasionally batteries go bad and won't supply enough current causing glitching.

Is he running a bec? If not, pick one up off eBay for $5. While your at it, grab somebody's new or slightly used stock 2.4ghz for about $20 shipped. I suppose it could also be a bad servo; the 995 and 996 go for $5 all day there as well if you need a bargain basement option. If you want other ideas on radios, servos, etc. then check the link in my sig below.
