Default crosspin on junfac driveshafts breaking

So I have had 3 of the small pins inside the head of different JunFac shafts break over the course of a few weeks, what should I replace them with? any rod of the proper size? Ace is the place for most of my odds and ends like this, just dont know if there is a better option out there?

I would find wheel pins that fit the diameter and Dremel them to the exact length, still allowing you to use the retention ring. If you go with "any rod" that come in the 3' lengths you might run into the same problem because the metal isn't hardened. I ran into it a lot using those rods in the diffs on my savage flux hp. I found wheel pins, ground them to the perfect length and haven't broken any since. Hope this helps.

I assume he means the little pin that fits in the hex at the end of your axle, holds it on. It looks plenty hard to me.

More importantly why are they breaking? I've ran Junfacs for lots of miles without breaking the pins, I've lost my fair share but never broken them. If I were to guess, I'd think your pinion angle is too steep..?

You could also find a set of cheap drill bits at harbor freight and cut the end that goes in the drill to make new pins.
