WELCOME TO THE ADDICTION!! You're going to have such fun with the deadbolt!! If I recall, that will come with a Tamiya style plug. Those have to be the cheapest connector in the industry. They are loose and will not give you a good connection let alone has poor current capabilities. I would highly recommend changing out the connectors to a high current connector such as the Traxxas, Deans or Castle connectors. If you're not comfortable changing it out yourself (soldering), contact your local hobby shop, rc club or friend nearby to help you get it changed out to the plug that will suit your needs. Remember, you'll have to match the ESC, battery and charger connectors. |

I have a dean cable and traxxas connector for my charger. So I'll cut the old connecter off the ESC. Solder a deans connector to the ESC and battery and I'll be good to go? Do you recommend castle link? Thanks for your imput. |

Sounds good to me. The AE-2 will utilize the castle link but the AE-5 will not. Depends which ESC you get will determine if you can use the castle link. If you get the AE-2, I highly encourage getting a castle link for programming vs manual programming via the remote. |

Not sure but the website shows the AE-2 still in the AX-10 deadbolt but showed the AE-5 in the SCX-10 deadbolt. Think you'll just have to wait and see which you get.

I ordered the truck through RCPLANET. This is part of the description of the truck Electronic Speed Control: Axial AE-2 with 2S LiPo cutoff, drag brake, reverse, Tamiya style connector, and is programmable through Castle Link (Castle Link programmer not included) |

It is an AE-2. The castle link is awesome. Very glad I got one, very easy to use.
