Default Thoughts on a second crawler

Have a SCX10 Deadbolt. Not sure what I want for my next crawler.
Another SCX10 is an obvious choice and spare parts is always a good thing. The Gmade Sawback is durable and scale. And the Vaterra Ascender seems pretty awesome out of the box especially since the driveshafts and pinions are upgraded. I am tempted by the new wraith kit but am afraid it is too big and I am more scaler and crawler than basher. Any thoughts?

i crawl very scale with my wraith. imo its the same thing as a scx... just hulked out a bit. TONS of aftermarket support for wraith and parts will be in stock for awhile.

that said they are all cool. makes sense to me to get a wraith and have something that can handle a bit burlier crawling while being able to share a heck of alot of parts.

Makes sense. The new Spawn kit seems like Axial got it right.

The Sawback is an awesome little scaler that's tough as hell and is my favorite out of my crawlers, but How could you go wrong with a Wraith? So much potential and various ways to modify it. Not to mention aftermarket parts are plentiful unlike a couple others you mentioned. I'm saving my pennies right now for a Spawn kit. Seems that a lot of the guy's I crawl with have Wraiths and they are a good time. I watch them slow crawl the technical sections then fly off jumps, do back flips, donuts and all kinds of wild crap. Imo the Wraith is everything all in one. Did I mention the aftermarket support?

I am the type of person who likes to be a scale as possible. Some times I wish I would have got a axial dingo they have a very scale look to them and the axial jeeps have good scale to.

This decision isn't getting any easier. That "hulked out" Spawn is soo tempting! The sawback can be done much cheaper though. I'd want to put higher grade ESC and motor in a Wraith. And the Ascender RTR is ready to go.

I am also thinking about building a scale body myself. The non-Wraith options all have a ladder frame that would fit the part.

Well, I did it, bought the Wraith Spawn Kit. RPP sent me a 15% coupon and could not pass it up for the price. Fortunately the ESC and motor I wanted were out of stock so starting off with some cheap stuff to get it running from the salvage yard. The Sawback might have won out if it were in stock but not regretting my choice. Almost bought a Spawn RTR for my first rig. Looking forward to building the kit.
