|  650$ Challenge What scale/crawler kit would you Build?
Your budget 650$ Must be a scale/crawler kit no rtr. Must have motor, esc, servo, tx/rx and battery. Must be all new parts from retail store. No Craigslist or ebay deals. What setup would you go with? |

Solar d772 servo. $82 trackstar 150A esc. $36 trackstar 3250kv 4 pole sensored motor. $40 flysky gt3 radio $58 25c gens ace 3s 5000 mah. $50 MIP drivelines. $34 hr steel trans gears. $11 racers edge aluminum servo arm. That's $614 for a damned capable "scale" rig that would be very tough and reliable right up until the stock pot metal gears and lockers in the diffs puked.  |

The Vaterra Ascended is a good choice as well if you're a fan of the oversized body. I find myself thinking of a challenge: Komodo kit, with: $325,- Boomracing Type-G shocks $55,- Pitbull Rock beasts II $60,- Hobbywing brushless combo 17,5T $90 Radiolink RC3S Rx/Tx $45 CYS-2220 Servo $38 GMade R1 portal axles Damn, i am a $613 already and even need beadlocks :(. Those will have ot wait. |

I've been doing a lot of comparison shopping lately between all of the scalers available and the Ascender keeps coming out on top as the clear winner as far as performance is considered. I'd definitely go for the Bronco version. I don't know how to stick to a build budget but I'll give it a shot. Bronco Ascender $320 Hitec 7954sh $80 Spektrum dx4c with 410 $100 Holmes BRXL and Crawlmaster $150 Venom 2200 3s $50 That's $700 but all this can be had from RPP so free shipping and the discount code will put you at $630 leaving you with $20 for the oral release from Mercedes or your choice of servo horn but that won't feel near as good. |
