Would anyone be interested in a Google Docs version of this? I made a version of Harley's form for my own use and am happy to share it. That is if Harley approves, of course

Here's a preview, it prints on two sheets or sides.

I have no issue with it, I have the excel sheet I can share but it looks like you have it covered.

Very cool sheet for builds.

I don't get it. What's the point of this checklist?

For those of us who are overly fastidious about our hobby.
For planning, tracking and/or sharing a build.

I've been using something similar since I started. I have to order 99% of my stuff online and it helps me ensure the parts I order actually arrive and get installed on my rig. It's also useful for referring back to what was bought, when and where. And cost of you're into that sort of thing.

Oh. I just write everything I buy in a notebook.

I may have 5 or 6 trucks in progress at a time and I have been guilty of over buying parts for them because I didn't realize I already got or had a certain part. This helps keep track of each build and what is already designated for it.

Default Harley's Build Sheets - Testing

Great idea. There are a few different, and somewhat overlapping, purposes. As a build planner, it can definitely help figure out what you need to order vs what you have on hand. For those that are so inclined, adding price would be a big help for budgeting. I have used a simpler spreadsheet for initial planning on most of my builds.

The use I'd be most interested in would be as a setup sheet. I find that, over time, I forget some of what's in each truck (e.g., electronics settings, shock oil, springs, gearing, foams, hidden parts, etc). Some of these things (like shock oil) wouldn't go into a build planning sheet, and others will change after the initial build, making them helpful to track elsewhere. I love the app idea, because it would be a very easy way to keep track of the fleet and the little tweaks that we make along the way.

Yeah in that situation, I can totally understand. We should all have that problem .

Even if you were to use the notebook method, this is just a way to have a predetermined list of things to fill out to make sure you have everything. That is, if you are building from scratch or trying to have a lot of what you need at the outset.

For those that just get a car and tinker one part at a time, this likely won't be the biggest help unless you just want an easier way to document.

I have published my Google Docs version of Harley's Build Sheet as a template.

If you want something simple and straightforward, stick with Harley's version. If you like to track with more detail then you can use the Google Doc and modify it as you wish.

Please PM me if you have questions or suggestions, I don't want to take over Harley's thread. If there's lots of questions I'll start a new thread.
