| savage shocks
my room mate spike runs savage shocks on his tuber and he also had them on his XC1 chassis, he gets more artic. than i do his rig is tore down for painting right now it should be put back together tomarrow night, thursday night at the latest and he will post a pic of his truck for you. he says mounting the savage shocks are a little sticky when it comes to mounting them over the 4 inchers, but they are well worth the trouble. |

I run Savage Shocks on 2 of my clods. They definately give a lot of travel. I love them. i especially like them with 3 stage progressive springs on them. Stiffens them up a little, less body roll. Last edited by jwrape; 02-09-2005 at 08:23 AM. |

I am running savage shocks on my new crawler. Nothing like anyone excepts though. Once I work the bugs out of them, I'll post up pics and specs on how to make em. |

Actually that is why I added suspension limiters. It is lowered now. Both those trucks are lower now. I basically put retention springs on them both to load the suspension so it is lower but will still drop out when necessary. Works really good now. Not as top heavy, but i still need BB's to plant my front tires better. The Avalanche it more of a play toy than a crawler. It is functional but still a little too heavy to crawl on the rocks, it's more of a curb crawler. The Jeep on the other hand is pretty lite for it's size. both are 1/6 scale bodies so they are pretty big rigs. The Jeep is one of my favorites for bashing, it's a good crawler. |

Exactly!! and by using the springs that i use, it actually slows down the suspension travel so that when it does unload the suspension it doesn't pop the truck on it's side. In the pic below you can see the C2 I just recently sold on Ebay that had the same limiters on it. It crawled really well too. It originally looked like this... Way too high It sat like this when i sold it. |

My TXT uses savage shocks. I like them because I can have the shocks stand up straight and mounted by the wheels while maintaining lots of articulation. I have a 2 stage spring set up in mind that will use a shorter spring along with a "zero rate" for a 40/60 drop to compression rate. Still playing with the sring rates more to come.
