All I did was get some Shoe-goo, Silicone, or Devcon 5min epoxy. Grind the stock junky servo off, and mount the new servo in the center between the shocks. Hold the servo with tape for the curing time so it wont move. The glues will hold your servo in place with no problem at all.

You can mount up the rounded cover, but i would leave it off. That way when driving into an obstacle your crawler can get as close as possible. I'd try to get the front as clear as you can. It may look funny but it's not a Pavment Princess.

just my.02 but you;ll be far better off fabbing up a servo mount then gluing it to the axle there's a ton on torque pulling on that servo

Your right but.... Driving my clod with locked diffs with the same glues will not break apart. Also racing on-road I have never pulled off a servo from the chassis. You'll break a case before the whole thing comes off. The mounts look cherry but are more hassle than what it's worth. IMO

WORD At least we have some options with these little guys. I just wish someone has some gears one day. These are so fun indoors during the winter blues.

Super glue. You can't PRY the servo off with a wedge after you super glue it to the axle. Just prepare a nice smooth surface on the axle and maybe even scuff the underside of the servo. Play with the placement before you commit it, but once you glue it, it's pretty much there. I'm sure if you literally took a flat blade screwdriver to it you could get it back off if you had to, but in my experience anyway, no amount of stress a li'l 1:18 could apply is going to remove that servo. Click my 1:18 in my sig and look at the photos for Stage 2, which is the HG electronics. You can see how/where I glued the servo to the axle.

Here is how I did mine, mounted servo in front with super glue, made skid plate out of stock cover. Works great with 2.2's, not sure if it would be that good with stock tires. ![]() Last edited by gotnylint?; 01-09-2007 at 09:05 AM.

Heres my front mount. Just put a 90-degree bend in a piece of aluminum and ran two screws threw the front with nuts on the back side and two down threw the top. The servo is mounted to the plate with two posts and some servo tape. ![]() This is the servo mount on my rear axle. This pic is a little more clearer but its the same setup as the front mount. The servo horn is pointing up so that the rear will turn in the opposite direction of the front. Last edited by thorn4run; 01-10-2007 at 03:41 PM.
