| Any recommendations on 6/32 link ends?
I am looking to build my daughter links and was looking form some cheap links ends to get it up and running. I am trying to stay away from the Traxxas ends, and I have seen a couple of options out there, but the only one I remember is the Dubro ends which are a little more than I remember another type out there. If you have any suggestions, and/or part numbers, I would appreciate it. Thanks mark |

i used the traxxas ends and they work pretty good one thing that makes for a nice clean look is to add alum tubing over the 6/32 rod. http://pic5.picturetrail.com/VOL85/9...1/80269145.jpg |

You could just drill and tap traxxas ends? I've drilled and tapped 3mm ends for 8-32, so I'm sure there is enough room.

Come on Dave, tell me what is good. I don't build junk, even if it is for my daughter. I do know about the Dubro ends, but was looking something else that was posted up here. I just wish I could remember what it was. might have been RPM or GS Racing. |

You are likely thinking of this thread: Now...THESE are rod ends!!! http://www.gsracing.com/web/page.asp?pgs=search search for 'ball ends' I will probably run these in the future, they are cheap and huge. And the traxxas ends aren't junk, LOTS of people run them and LOTS of people are happy with them. Some of us have just gone beyond the strength they can provide. Just stick with 3mm like Tamiya intended and you wont have problems with those Traxxas ends |

T-Man, I have drilled and tapped all ends that I've ever run for 8-32, I'm sure you can fit 6-32 no problem ;)

I’m using the GS Storm Rod ends now, but they’re HUGE! Traxxas REVO rod ends still use 6-32 and they’re a little beefier than the old ones. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHGB7&P=7 |

Well, maybe you wont have ANY problems, but you wont split them in half since you tried to shove a big old 8-32 rod in there. Thats 8-32 not 8/32" lol |

You drill out plastic and replace it with metal.. I fail to see the problem?

Let me help you understand there mr know it all. The Traxxas rod ends are approximately .232 thick at the point where you thread the rod into. When you tap it out for 3mm, it barely removes any material. With a larger diameter rod like 6-32 or 8-32, you will have to tap out a larger hole, and thus remove more material from the already small rod end, making the walls of the rod end thinner, and weaker. If you keep it at 3mm, the plastic is much thicker and more resistant to breaking. Understand now? Jeremy says he splits them in half all the time. |

I ran ones that were even smaller, but they were a soft plastic so they gave a lot and never snapped. I didn't know the traxxas ones were a hard plastic.

they arent a hard plastic..thats the reason i tear them in half, because they are soft..i rip the balls out of the ends, strip them off the threads, break them in half. I even ran smaller hardware and they did the same thing. The traxxas ends are too soft to start with and a whole bag is like $7.00.. so you get what you pay for ;)
