Hi all, I own a Wild Dagger with custom carbom chassis (hand built by me) and I had been very surprised how it climbed the rocks, better than my friend TXT crawler. Mayb e my friend's crawler was not excellent but now I want to build a Wild Dagger crawler. I want to understand id this car can be good for crawl the rocks. This is my idea and would like to have some opinion about: - 4WS - Custom handmade chassis (could be carbon, alluminium or tubes chassis). - Two mabuchi rotors inside mod motor cans (maybe low rpm, high torque due the better magnets) - Increased ground clearance in front and rear end and in the middle too. - 4WD with locked diffs - 2.2 Moab tires - 4 inches dampers - 14T pinion gears instead of stock 18/20T. - 2 high torque servos What's your idea about please? Need and info please: 23:1 with mabuchi motors is a good gear ratio? If not is better buy a gear reducion or a slowermotor? What's the right gear ratio in your opinion please? Cheers and many thanks Max http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...id=12382&id=24 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...id=11371&id=24 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...id=11372&id=24 http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_m...04012007030457 http://rcdaggerweb.com/clyde/wiki/index.php?page_id=33 Some links about my Daggers!

Nice trucks! Awhile back I built a crawler out of a twin detonator for a guy (was cheaper that a clod or tlt build and money was an issue) and use 55T integy motors w/ the stock gearing, locked diffs, 3" shocks, and 2.2 moabs. When I was testing it for him, it seemed to work well and it only had a std. servo for the steering and only 2 wheel steering and stock chassis. Those motor seemed to work really well in it, but if you could get the gearing lower even lower, it would work even better. The motors weren't working very hard in it even with the stock gearing. Godd luck with the project!

Love your carbon stuff Konte, especially the bellcrank setup For crawling I would definetely recommend gear reductions on a Dagger. I am running GD600 x2 on mine with the stock silver cans. One issue with that setup is the motors stick way out. Maybe the type Taztoyo posted above or the RC4wd low-pro unit would work too...

Hi guys, many thanks for all your answers. Wild Trial Dagger is amazing but probably I try a different challenge. Would like to built a crawler with independent suspension like Wild Dagger. I know rigid axle are better cause the high grade articulation but this is the challenge. I think Wild Dagger with independant suspension can arrive at 35 degrees intead of 70 needed for a good crawler. My idea is dued the climbing performances of my Carbon Dagger. I think it climbs so much cause is lighter than a Clod so I wanna continue that way with the Trial Dagger. Don't know if switch to lathe motors or gear reduction. What do you suggest please? What's the best choice? Cheers Max PS Wild Trial, please, can I have a picture of your front steering servo mounting position? Thaks Max

Hi Taztoyo, probably will switch to the gear reduction you have mounted in your silver can. It keeps the same motor clearance of original motors because is axial. I think it use the same solution used in the drillers. Please where I can find it and at what cost? Another question for Wild Trial. I like a lot your wheel rims. Where can I find them please? They are a cool design with an excellent offset. Are them narrowed in your picture? Cheers Max
