Hey I have a 1:6 nylint the scorpion but that dosent matter. I am going to do the stick project becasue it dosent look that hard since i have all the parts to do it. I have been serching for threads to read about it so I think i have a general idea of what to do. I have a couple of ?'s though 1. When i take out all my electronics would i sauder the wires bak together or whould i use wire crimpers to put them all back together? 2. Do you think that I should use threaded rod for the (stick) or a flat piece of allunium (spelling)? 3. I plan on using the project box from radioshack but do any of you know that bar code number on it becasue when I went to my local radioshack they said that they have no clue of what im talking about. I am a new member lurking around here, and this is my second post, and since im only 15 years old this will be a slow build. 4. I searched but inorder to take the servo out you have to take the pin out of the arm that connects to the knuckles. How do you do that. I need to take it out because i blew my servo on my other chassis that im doing the stick to.. Thanks for the help, and i did serch so try not to flame me to much (

well welcome to the board. it'll be nice to have another build here instead of just questions. Anyway, about your questions... 1. you can solder or crimp the wires back together, it really doesn't matter, mine are just tied together with some heat shrink tubing over them. 2. depends on how thick it is, you want something tough to support and take the strain of the weight though either way 3. no, have you looked at their website? 4. just cut the pin off with a dremel or something if you can, you can replace it with a little bolt or something like that. (just so you know, it's not really a servo though, just a motor, belt, and gear reduction) -Dalton

1.i would personaly crimp the wires. 2.id go with thred rod think of a pop can when you stand on it just rite it wont colapse. on a flat sheet if lay it down like paper it will bend. 3. i dont know 4.do what hotrodzach said use a dremel its good to know that im not the only one who does more to the crawler then just paint and little stuff. this is what i built http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p...Picture237.jpg im gonna do the same thing to another rc body i have. im gonna combine a cadillac with a 1:18 crawler Last edited by taylor smith; 01-04-2007 at 08:30 PM.

like he said though, its not a servo, so if it quit working, there is a good chance that the steering portion of the circuit board is fried, or a wire came loose either on the board or the motor.... | |

ok so i will crimp the wires together, is there special crimping tube things that i need or can i just use any of them. i will use threaded rod but im just thinking of one thing, since i am buying the project box from radioshack, do you guys/girls have any idea of mounting it to the threaded rod. taylorsmith - your cralwer does look alright but i would lower the body some, but what do i know im a newb. LOL so just cut the pin out then i can take the steering motor out and put it in the other crawler. After i cut the pin out what would i replace it with, i was thinking of a bolt or something but im not sure. Has anybody done this with there crawler?? thanks for all the help this will be a very slow build so stay tuned. I hopping it to be done before winter ends and that will be in about 3 months. I have 50 dollars to radioshack, and im getting money for my bday in 5 days so i should be able do get some parts.
