| Need advice on shocks, springs, and droop kits.
So I've got a Mattzilla rig that uses a Wraith skid. I bought it with SCX axles and am in the process of putting Wraith axles under it. Right now it has what I believe or either stock Wraith or SCX shocks. Regardless it sits way to high and has really poor flex. I'm in the market for new shocks and am thinking I will need a droop kit as well. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to what length shocks to buy and or springs? Lastly is it better to run really soft springs or a droop kit? Disregard the axle angles I have material to make new links on the way. It's just waaaaaay to freaking high. Does something with that suspension geometry seem a little off, or is it just me? I built an scx-based rig awhile back and used the 90mm King shocks and it seemed to have plenty of flex for me. If you want to make it lower, you'll probably either have to use shorter shocks, or run a droop setup. You could do different shock mounts, but that would involve cutting and rewelding... Making different links may help you out in the flex department as well. That just looks bouncy to me lol.

I'm sure it is. I kinda worked the AR60s in there. It still has the original links from the SCX axles.

I've never been fond of droop setups, they don't seem to perform as well and don't look scale bouncing over stuff at any speed above crawl. I'd just go with shorter shocks , flex is over-rated, the shorter shocks will get ride height where it should be and still can be setup about 50/50. |
