Default Tips for Easy Cage and Body Placement??

Hey Guys,
I've been trying to figure out what height I want my body to mount, problem is I don't want to put holes in it, then not like where it sits. I want my truck to flex yet stay clear of the wheel wells.

After that I need to make some mounts for the exo cage to mount.

anyways, How do you guys figure out where you'd like your body to sit, I can mount it stationary and flat, but I want to test the articulation clearance without the body moving.

any tips or ideas for be great. I'm stumped

not sure how the velcro would touch the frame? lol.

Maybe my question is worded wrong.

I need to mount the body, but need to find the sweet spot first. Whats an easy but not permanent way to mount things up so I can see if it all works?

IMO, you are thinking about this way to much. Mount the body where you want it, then worry about attaching the exo cage and trimming wheel wells to allow articulation. It isnt rocket science.

I see your problem try hot glueing some kind of body post to the body the you can just tape it to the chasis at differing heights

Its not rocket science. Neve said it was. But I don't want to trim the wheel wells.

Its for a scale truck and I have a nice looking exo for it. and I want it to look scale. I don't want the hack the body all up.

Jet boat. Hotglue is a good idea thanks

Take a blob of play dough (softened modlers clay, plumbers putty, etc.). Stick the blob on your chassis close to where you would attach your body mounts so it will support the body. Use two blobs, front and back if needed. Put the body on and start squishing the play dough around till the body sits how you like it. Take the body off (hopefully the play dough dosen't stick to the body) and measure the height of the playdough above where your body mounts would attach. Make body mounts, posts, etc to suit.

Way over thinking it. Setup your rig for the ride height you want. Fit body on to fit that ride height. Fix exo cage to chassis. Trim body as needed, remmeber, scale trucks don't have tons of flex. Limit the flex.

Hell, my scale truck can flex on top of a pop can, a pop can on it's side. Then that is maxed out. It's stable and goes like a rocket too!!
