I agree with the recommendations on servo, servo horn, steering/drag links and rear sway bar. I'd add to the immediate replacement list the stock plastic links, and I'd recommend adding the aluminum plates for the trailing arms (or replacing them altogether). There are some other weak points (stock lockers & ring/pinion gears), but those will probably hold on for a while if you and she don't go crazy with it. It's a fun rig (very comparable to a Wraith), so most of all, enjoy!

Mine is heavily modded. Stock is slow and suspension sucks. For me, good crawler- not excellent. For me, fast- but not as capable as my Yeti. So, it is always the most driven because it is good at everything. |

Thank all we don't plan on going fast at all with it mostly trail and crawling, my thinking is the bomber will be better for her to keep up with our scx10s Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Lol that’s a bump from the past I ended up getting the kit version. Built it but never ran it’s I think I need to let some oil out the shock because it’s pretty still. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

When I overfill the shocks, I just open the cap, pour a couple drops of oil out, and see what the shock rebound looks like. Once I get to the point where there's just a 1/4" or so of rebound, I move on to the next shock and just try to get them both even. Shouldn't take you 20 minutes to do all 4. In fact, on a Bomber, it'll probably take you 5 times longer to remove & reinstall the shocks than it will to take out a little oil.

The Bomber is a Rock Racer. It does crawl Ok and it can be very fast. Mine has the 2 speed and that helps crawling. Rock Racing never realy took off around here so it is my goto trail rig. I am running Mamba Max Pro and 3800k motor. It's fast enough to blow the tires off the rims on 3s. Sway bar is a definate needed upgrade. I have a quick disconnect on my swaybar when I am crawling. I run Swamper TSL XL wich is a tall tire so was able to lower it a bit front and rear. This realy helped High Speed handling. It didn't hurt crawling much either. I can still lift a tire up 4 inches before any others lift. The battery in the front realy helps it crawl better than the Wraith. You could move the Wraith battery to the same position. The slightly longer wheelbase makes it much more stable at speed. The Bomber rocks. It is definately my favorite rig. |

I keep my sway bar connected all the time. In fact, I put it on specifically because I couldn't stand the torque twist when I was trying to climb up steep obstacles. The front wheel would lift and I would either stop forward progress or flip it right over. The sway bar eliminated that, and it stops the truck from over-flexing to the point where it becomes unstable. I much prefer how the truck crawls with the sway bar on. |

My moa bomber out crawls everything I own (trx4, scx10 2, and a custom hotrod) to the point its not as much fun to drive. But it's still no shelf queen. Never tried rock racing though, that just sounds like I would smash into rocks and break things.

I have a pro4 HD 3300 motor in mine, it goes awesome. What I can't climb over, you mash the throttle and jump it. Lot of hold my beer moments with the bomber.

LOL...the old thread. And OP never ran yours? Awe shucks. I just built mine and think it's a hoot. These guys talked me into a 3300kv motor on 3s and it's stupid-silly fast so I'm crawling it on 2s. It puts the 1.9's to shame in ability, but if it can compete in a C3 then I would try that. Just a fun diversion from scaler 1.9's. |

im considering a bomber instead of my yeti. i rarely get the go-fast itch. and the yeti is fast and rips on a trail or field, but any obstacles stop it dead in its tracks. i think the bomber is the rig i MEANT to get. its just the yeti was my first RC i drove in over 10 years and first intro to brushless. basically the HOLY S#!T factor fooled me into getting one lol so yeah to me, a bomber is for a split purpose rig that can do a little of both, but crawls WAY better than a yeti. and yes heavy U4/KOH influence. (which involves both go-fast and crawling) check out some build threads in the axial bomber section for ideas.

The vehicles are different enough that I'm quite happy having both.

I think you guys are seeing a lot of "old" opinions from this necro-bumped thread. In the past 2 years, I think people have found ways to make the Bomber a very capable crawler, as well as doing stuff like IFS front and rear via DMG parts.
