Default What is the purpose of the rr10 bomber?

Hello all, me and my son both have scx10s, I have been debating on getting my daughter a scx10 or wraith, but we both like how the bomber looks. My question is what void does the bomber fill? Is it just a different looking wraith with a yeti rear? Is it for trails and crawling or for not so fast speed bashing? We have slashes and erevos for our go fast needs, I want something for here to be able to go on trail hikes and some climbing. I think the 2.2 wheels would be better for her on the climbing and honestly when she's not playing I want the bomber for my self! Lol any insight, thanks

Bomber is a dual sport, I can go fast, and crawl really good.

Going fast good and crawling good is not gonna happen.

To me it's more of a go fast rig and really don't belong in a crawler forum but if the yeti can be then I guess so can a bomber.

I'd never consider the Bomber to be a Go-Fast rig. Way too high COG and a ton of traction roll at speed. Yeti would be better for speed, or a Recon-style event. Bomber could/will be a great Class 3 Cwalrer with a bit of tuning.

The Bomber is not an "excellent " crawler or an "excellent" go fast rig. But, it is a good mix of both. Which is why I love it. And your looking for something to take on hikes. It's great for for that. We regularly take ours on hikes and have a blast. And mine is still stock. It'll be even more capable(and fun) all around, once I upgrade stuff. I say get it.

Look up the King of Hammers race in California. The full scale Bomber won it in 2015.

The bomber is like a fine tuned and more scale looking wraith.

You cant go wrong with either, buy the one you like.

Thanks all , I don't need it to go fast, she has a mini erevo for that , for the trail and occasional rock crawl is what I'm looking at . I know what the wraith is capable of and if this can do the same then this is the one, thanks all

2013 and 2014 Bomber wins as well. No wonder Axial made a version. 2014 Randy Slawson did a donut in the pits, got penalized and still won the race. Go fast and crawl is what KOH and the Bomber is all about.

Twin Hammer length trailing arms to shorten the wheelbase helped my Bomber's crawlability a lot. I love it and I'm running it for Class 3 this season.

I should also mention I swapped to a SCX10 style trans with VP Dig, HH BR-XL/14t Puller on 6s, servo winch, and loaded axles to help with comping.

What's the purpose of the bomber? Uhhh to crawl, go fast whatever you want to do since it's a toy truck that you can do whatever makes you happy with it.

The Bomber is a compromise. No vehicle will go fast well and crawl well. Hence you have a vehicle that isn't great at either.

I would at least get a steering servo & an aluminum servo arm to have on hand. My stock plastic arm stripped out pretty quick. Rather than install another plastic one I went ahead and installed an Axial aluminum arm and a Spekrum S6090 servo. Also had to install a Castle BEC since I'm running 3S lipo.
I'll hold onto the stock servo to maybe use on a 2 speed trans later on.

Replace the tie rod with one made of metal. The stock plastic tie rod has way too much flex. Axial Wraith Titanium Steering Tie Rod - Vanquish Products
