It changed their little scale nerd world forever and that's important to all 79 of them so they want to be heard damnit!

Lipos, sensored brushless motors and ESCs, 2.4GHz are the biggest for all R/C.

As for crawling, availability of parts is huge now! Back when I first joined up, TLT axles were about the only choice for scale axles and we locked them with silly putty. There were only a few different choices of tires. We were making tons of stuff on our own and adapting parts from other trucks and cars for crawler use. Now you can just get online and buy whatever you want.

I would say RCC. Because without it, I might have not gotten back into the hobby.

I would have to say lipo batteries are the #1 change to RC as a whole in the last 10 years. It has had a HUGE effect on the RC aviation industry and the surface vehicle industry.

Lipos and 2.4 technology, I hated frequency boards.

As a Newbie just stepping back into the whole RC world after 15 years out and 20 years since I last competed I can honestly say the biggest changes are:

Electronics (everything from lipos, brushless, 2.4s to speed controller functions)
Price availability - cheap far eastern manufacturing makes hobby grade RC so much more accessible, yes you can still spend loads, but I've just bought my boy an all in rtr buggy for £100, my first m-tronics esc cost more than that!

messing about tuning your nitro engine, or matching cells and hand winding motors are things of the past
