Default RC4WD Kings Medium OD shock

Has anyone tried these shocks? How does it compared to the original Kings with a smaller OD? Does it leak much? or not leak at all (I can only dream right....)?

The general opinion of the original Kings is they are for looks and does not perform very well and hard to tune. I hope this newer medium OD version will lift the performance department while still look the part.

These new one has shock OD of 12.6mm, its even larger than the short course version (12.4mm) and compared to the original one of 10mm.

This is the one I am referring to...

King Off-Road Dual Spring Shocks (90mm Medium OD)

Thanks.

Default Re: RC4WD Kings Medium OD shock

We're running longer medium ODs on our Bomber and Roo's Yeti:

I also run other Kings (mostly scalers with the narrow bodies on hard-bodied scale rigs, and a set of short course shocks on my Wraith). Performance on all of them has been fine so far with a little tuning. For tuning, I highly recommend the optional spring assortment. With a total of 5 spring rates to choose from (stock plus four in the assortment), adjustable spring tensioners, and your choice of oil weight, I find these to be very tunable. Are there higher performance options out there? Sure. But these look great IMO and do well with a little setup work.
