losi 22 3.0 buggy had issues at release. suspension arms, blah blah.. they all have issues at release. but...

losi fixes the issue. ae tries. they narrow it down. but stuff still breaks. someone hitting you, you hitting a tube, scrubbing to hard and not landing right. I can go on and on. basically... I sell more ae parts than losi. I sell more losi kits than ae. I have ae kits on clearance.. still wont sell.

losi sells better in my town.
I've been racing AE and Losi kits most of my life (I'm 41) - I've had no more issues with Associated than Losi. I'll agree that AE sometimes uses lighter construction on some parts, but we're typically talking about ball cups and arms. Ball cups, in my opinion, should be replaced after they've been popped off a few times, whether intentionally, or on accident. If you've got an inexperienced driver behind the wheel, I'd rather see a ball cup pop than a shock tower, bulkhead, steering rack, or knuckle break. Ball cups are cheap and easy to replace.
I ran a B4 on and off from it's release to the introduction of the B5M. I never broke anything on the car. Never popped a ball cup, though I did replace them several times during rebuilds. I can say the same for my two SC10's. My B5M is going strong on all of the original plastics, though the arms, knuckles and hubs are about due for replacement due to wear. This is a release kit, and has seen used on clay, carpet, and loose dirt tracks.
I feel that Losi, Associated, Kyosho, Yokomo, PR, and a few others are currently building cars that are practically interchangeable in terms of performance and reliability. Overall quality of presentation is higher with Kyosho, Xray, and Yokomo, in my opinion. Some may suit a certain track condition better than others. Driving style may dictate how fast a racer is with one car over another. I've always felt that Losi cars were more neutral than Associated, which is great for a lot of people. Associated has always felt more aggressive to me - which translates to twitchy to some racers. The newer mid-motor gen of cars seems to have balanced this out a bit.
I cringe whenever I see a shop selling a race oriented kit to someone who will likely never take the car to a track. Even the SC10 is a bit too lightweight to bash - it's just a B4/T4 at it's heart.
All that said, I hope Associated/TTR doesn't half-ass a crawler or U4 kit. They've held out long enough that they should have a pretty good idea of what it takes to build something that'll work well and appeal to scale fans... I hope they get it right.

And you need to take your AE hate propaganda to a Losi site where the audience will at least pretend to believe it.

The only thing you've stated is a biased and misguided fan-boy opinion, not fact. Anyone with a little experience with these two brands can see through your childish rhetoric.

The thread was in General Crawlers because some speculate AE may be looking to enter the crawler market and the leaked photo's might be a first look. But your bull-**** derailed it, so off to Schit-Chat it goes.

yay its in shiz-at. rccrawler.com/forums. now...

im not a fanboy. if I was a fanboy.. its for erik_dlux and his awesome parts.

I have an ae driver on my local hobby team. he even knows this. and he states "TLR is more durable than AE. but! AE is faster cause its lighter! but not as durable. that's how I keep you guys in business HAHA!"

he has said it a few times. because everytime I come in second with my 2.0 sct in mod class.

mad its in chit chat?

Since this is in chit chat now I'll tossed in my 37 pesos.

It's been my experience that losi is more advanced and has better factory geometry than AE. But, Losi is nowhere near as durable as AE. Having said that I should qualify my statements by saying g that my newest losi is a xxx kinwald edition buggy and my newest AE is an OG rc10 gold pan.

My name isn't Eric. no blame game. here. ill take the blame for it being in chit chat though.

the xxx chassis have had transmission case issues for lots of people racing them round here at the Washtenaw track in Michigan. either casing it or flat landing the rear tabs of the transmission crack. ive had the top crack off too.

goldpans... that's a whole different story good car I tell ya what,

the new geometry is good on the 3.0 cars and 4.0 eight scale.

if I was swinging from dlux nuts hed know for sure. cause im not.

I do dream though of owning a set of his axles. or a artr of his once he gets that in line.

^ yep my team leader is racing gold pan in THE SERIES races this year. only problem he had with his repop was he had to really take his time breaking in the transmission to get it super smooth. other than 1 ball cup. its a tank. he also fixed the steering problems they had. few spacers here and there. I drove it. it almost over steers lol.

I'm just over here lol'ing at the fact that ball cups are being used to decided what the "durability" of a kit is! Haha

ive prolly bragged a million times already but i have a very respectable rc10 collection... ;)

i didnt get to finish the laydown trans mid graphite car, but the goldpan mid is pretty cool and after a couple changes to the setup works pretty well. yellow rig is the best handling car ive ever had, pretty much a clone of the pink car i used to race at the vintage nats with the exception of 25° caster setup compared to the typical 30° and smaller pistons in the shocks. i love to just be chill and run laps for fun, but the second it gets competitive in any way i get frustrated and its no longer fun. juuust like gt6.

last time i was at a track i lost my cool and kicked the gold mid. kicked it... shamefull behavior... thats why i like the crawling scene since its much more casual and slower paced.
