Default E-Bay toy grade crawler..

Have you guys seen these little Wraiths on ebay... bought 1 for my nephew. Now it's a POS but has potential. Not bad for a 3yr to bash on for how long idk..

Cons..
Tires are stiff, servo sucks,
Pros..
Looks really cool

I liked it enough I bought one for my self to modify. Some type of cut n shut tire, scx10 shocks, real esc and receiver, cheap servo basically a rebuild.. not sure how much I'll MOD mine when it shows up... but thought I'd share it's about the size of my scx10. For around 50.00 even if I just drive it with my nephew it's worth it.

Received my knockoff Wraith in the mail yesterday. Removed the panel's to see how to rip stock ESC circuit board out... while I wait for the other eBay parts waiting on a cheap servo and ESC...

I need some old skool scx10 takeoff tires..

I bought this esc to try. It says it will work with 130 - 380 motors.. if it works I might buy another one and run dual ESC's... ??

I second the interest. 7 bucks for an ESC. i need one of those to finish up the maisto rock crawler i've been working on.

I bought one of those for my cat to chase..

I'll be very impressed if you can make anything usable out of it...

Their lack of proportional control is the biggest issue for me. Well, that and the horrible noise that the 'servo' makes..

There's potential there, it's got a frame that works and the geometry seems reasonable..

The reason I'm trying the esc I bought is so i can get proportional control. I think if I drop a ae2 type esc in there it be to much power and possibly bust the axle gears....

I post any changes made last I recut and shut a set of Sedona tires. That destroyed a few months back.. the real rubber on the wheels let this mini wraith actually climb up a few test rock I have.
I'll post short video later today. Still waiting for the high dollar servo and ESC from eBay (14$).

Don't laugh to hard at my tires. If electronics work out I'll swap tires for a more scale 1.9 tire.. and pick up some scx10 shocks... the shocks have a spot at the top where they bind. If you look close I made limiting straps to reduce the binding.

If nothing else maybe this thread can bring a few laughs I know I've had a few working on this mini wraith.. my 3yr nephew is going to love his

Those tires made a huge difference. the new ESC is really going to help but a servo is going to be the most beneficial.

Tires are a great improvement over stock tires. The manufacturer calls stock tires rubber but the are very hard.
If this little wraith had a real servo I could live with the stock ESC No (dragbake).
The best ESC for this I think would be a used CC mamba25 so I can set the dragbake. Who has one laying around not being used... pm me if you have one on the cheap.

Fab'd up a standard servo mount... plenty of room for improvement on mounting servo but I'll run like this unless there a unforseen problem.

Also soldered micro Dean's to motors.

I've been eyeing these for a while. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Are the motors entirely encased or is there a way to see them? And does it have locked or open diffs?
