Default Started design on my backyard course....

Made myself a 3D model of where I want to go with my backyard course...

Obviously the rock pile and fill dirt that ends up on top of the pallets will be much more complicated, but the time it would take to model all that in there isn't worth it... lol...

looks good! be a good course for testing a rig for sure. 13 pallets looks like it will be enough give or take a few.

Yeah I've started collecting them. If I can't find that many I can always put them all on 4x4 post legs like the tallest one. Which would in turn create more space for more obstacles. So that may actually be the better route. The only downside to that, is that the pallets are free, and the 4x4 posts are not. Unless I can find some scrap ones somewhere.

The lumber yards around my place have a scrap cut-off pile that anyone can take anything out of. Its all the cut off ends they discard of all types and sizes of wood. Might want to check out your local ones.

Looks sweet ,

A buddy of mine is a landscaper, so I told him if he needed a spot to dump his scrap rock/broken concrete from his jobs, I'd take it. Saves me $ looking for rock, saves him $ having to take it to the dump.

Mike that's one thing I'll have to look harder to find, is rock. I know a few places where I can get smaller pieces at the bottom of some bluffs, that have fallen. But there's not a lot of room to pull off the road. Lol

Check new construction sites on the weekends, the ones where they've been bulldozing and leveling the ground, they usually turn up a lot of nice 6-7 inch rocks. Be wary of the sites with partially constructed housing.

When I go the dump to dispose of my house hold trash

They have huge piles of construction materials, wood, concrete, bricks, and fencing material

They have a huge pile of trimmed tree branches in all different diameters and lengths

That you could use to build to your course with or a section of it maybe

They have a huge pile of scrap metal, there is all kinda's of shit, I could use for fabricating, some cool shit

Never asked if they would sell me some scrap steel, or any of the materials

I'm sure if you asked about the wood, and branches they might give you a cheap price or for free

Call your local dump and ask if you can have some material

Explain it too them, its for sick children and your trying to introduce them to R/C Rock Crawlers

So they a have hobby to take the minds of there health and have some fun

I'm sure they would be happy to help you

I know I would be out there loading your truck up in a heart beat
