Default Redcat Everest 10

Cant tell you how much I like my Everest 10 and my RS10 as well. I turned my Everest 10 crawler into a Rock Racer. Just started this. Aaron at R.C. Evolution in Fresno, CA. is hooking me up with a brushless esc and motor to put in it. Will post more pics in the near future. So far I have the XL Interco Superswampers, 20 mm wheel widener. Shortened 115mm Redcat all aluminum dual spring rate shocks, aluminum Redcat C Hubs, aluminum Steering knuckles machined by Aaron, and 20T 540 motor with Hobbywing WP 1060 Esc. It is great up rock faces and bouncing through piles of anything. Lol.
This is a side by side of my Everest 10 on the left and my sons stock Everest 10 on the right. Big difference.

How well have your E10 transmissions held up so far? I bought a E10 trans for $16 and put it in a budget SCX10 I built. So far it's holding up to 3S, but I was curious how your transmissions were doing.

I also didn't realize until after I bought the trans that you can't get replacement parts for it.....you have to buy a whole new trans. This is why I ask how they are doing. I don't want to buy another E10 trans if this one fails.

Cool rigs by the way!

E10 tranny has not been a failure point for the most part. Some report running the same tranny for 2 years. I think I've only read a report of 1 person who had to replace it on this forum.

Check this out Typhoon. It is an exact clone of the scx10. Except different outdrives. I am running hot racing hardened aluminum gears made for an scx10 as well as the axial outdrives, but in my everest tranny case. The Axial axles are exactly the same as well. I have redcat c hubs with axial steering hubs. As welk as running rc4wd scx10 steering links. You can also use axial rear steering lockouts as well to get rid of the rear knuckles if your not going to use rear steering.

Now I need to buy the metal diff locks front and back. With this set up it has alot more torque. I twisted the plastic diff by hitting throttle on and off. Does about 20 mph. i am guessing. Not even brushless yet. I think alot of you guys should join me in making these rock crawlers into rock racers.

Ok. So heres a new list of mods on my now Everest 10 Rock Racer. Could almost pass off as a Formula Offroad buggy/truck. Heres the list of whats been done:
Aluminum servo horn
RC4WD SCX10 aluminum steering and servo links
Metal locking diffs front and rear.
Hot racing hardened aluminum center transmission gears.
Axial out drives in the stock Redcat tranny case.
Boom racing 20mm wheel wideners.
Proline Interco Super Swampers TSL SX with regular size 2.2 sponges from my badlands.
Custom made 6061 aluminum gold annodized bottom chassis plate
Custom made 6061 aluminum steering hubs.
Redcat aluminum c-hubs.
Redcat Volcano 100mm aluminum shocks.
1/8 scale Hobbywing Waterproof SC8-RTR brushless Esc
3650mm (540 size) 5900kv 4 pole brushless sensorless motor. ($30 chinese motor. Forgot the brand, but rebuildable)
Switched around shock and link positions. Running the shocks on the outside helps with the major torque twist this little beast has. Spings are dual rate and alot stiffer than stock.
Sprayed body inside and out with bedliner. It helps big time.
Integy 40c 7.4V 5000mah lipo battery.
Think thats it for now. I will post video footage soon. You guys need to see this thing move. I am confident in 30 to 40 mph with it now. I know I dont need this to be a super speed demon. But was impressed none the less.

Will put Axial lockouts in the back next. Get rid of the linkage.
