| you guys were right..... :(
so, after countless attempts at making my Nitro X-Factor a rock crawler, i gave up. all my rock crawlin' attention is now directed at the Tamiya CC-01. it pains me to say it, but it wasn't worth trying to make the X-F crawl. but, i've learned tons here, and a lot of things i've read on here have made my X-F a better all around truck. crawling duty will be with the CC-01, while general fun/bashing duty will be with the X-F. now i just have to figure out a way to solve my latest problem with the Tamiya: grippy tires + torquey motor + GD600 3:1 = stripped gears. currently trying to stuff a custom transfer case in this thing. should never have doubted you guys! |

The first thing you needed to do would have been to convert the X to electric Mine is a work in progress, since that pic, the wheelbase has been extended to 15 3/4", now I'm just figuring out driveshafts |

^^not anything like a GD600, but i did throw a 52T spur and 13T pinion, and lower tranny gears, at was geared really low, like 15mph in first gear (30,000rpm motor)

yeah, but that was at the motor's limit, 30,000rpms, that's the same gearing as some of the 55T crawlers on here, they only rev to 7,000rpm remember, this is a truck that used to go 40mph |

If you watched my video of my xfactor when it was nitro you can really see where the nitro X falls short. Especially how the clutch system fails. I had pretty much every mod possible.....52t spur, 12t cb, stretched wheelbase, narrowed kongs, 4wheel steering, etc etc.......... Here's the link to the vid Nitro X-Factor Vid!!! It was fun driving the nitro Xfactor but if you're serious about rock crawling then electric is the way to go. | |

yeah, its not a loss at all. the mods on this forum have turned my mediocre truck into a great basher that performs well in ever situation. it is amazing in general off-road settings (not extreme like rock crawling though) and i can't wait til my scale crawler is done |
