Default MOA overdrive question.

Hoping to get a question answered for me.

I have a bully 2 with the HH dual minis controlled by a spektrum dx6r. I have the rear esc plugged into the thr plug and the front esc plugged inti the aux. I've alwayd heard on a moa that you should have the front axle should be overdriven. Thinking this i have it set at 53% front and 47% rear but is there a certain science on how much to overdrive or is it just by feel on the rocks?

There isn't one answer so thats why you haven't found the perfect answer. It all comes down to what your climbing. Some stuff requires different over/under drive. The more you drive, the more you will learn how to use it to your advantage. Run it 50/50% then as your climbing and your rig wants to flip back, you'll want to add more over drive so front tires pull you up something. Practice, practice and more practice.

That's a 6% differential. Probably close to what you want, but not having Spektrum gear, are you not reducing available throttle by half with your settings? Why not 100% and 94%?

I actually have mine set at a 4% differential, but use a different radio.

Negative

If you are worried about the wheelbase you need to flex the car to find the longest point and that should not extend past 12.5"

OP, learn how your car drives. With a decent set up you will find 50/50 handles the best in most situations. Overdrive on the front helps in steep climbs, but most times in my time I used 50/50 or dig. Rarely at all did I overdrive the front.

I'm lost then, when mine is underdriven it extends to max wheelbase.....

One great thing about MOA is the ability to change your overdrive on the fly. You aren't restricted to a single ratio like you are with a shaftie, so don't limit yourself by thinking there is a "perfect" ratio. It changes with your terrain and driving style.

This does depend on what your radio is set up to do though.

When the front is over driven it pulls the front harder thus extending the wheelbase. But no where in the suspension cycle should your wheelbase exceed 12.5 inches.

I do agree that 50/50 is best for most situations.

This spektrum uses the 50/50 ratio but they both get 100% power. Thanks

Thanks for all the help. I've decided to leave it at 50/50 and added a trimmer switch that will automatically adjust the overdrive without having to go in and program it.
