Default Willies crawler suspension question

I just started into this project, I am using Axial SCX 10 for both front and rear Axles. Traxxas Rod ends with the standard 8/32 threads for linkage. I bought 12mm wideners with 2.2 tires and the shocks are rubbing. Is it just a matter of getting 14mm or 16mm wideners. Thanks for any help.
