Is it possible to use a 32p motor pinion on a 48p spur,or do they both have to match.Do they even make a 32p spur? Thanks |

They have to match if you want the gears to last at all. Yes they make a 32p spur gear. The one in the picture is from a Traxxas Rustler ![]() Here is a Robinson 48p spur ![]() They are close to matching but they will not work together, might last a few minutes but thats it. Steve |

What are you using it on? Are we talking metric 48P or standard 48P?

It may go into my PTI,not sure If they are metric or standard.I've been debating on weather to go 32p or just use the stock gearing and using a 65t lathe motor.I may just try the latter, cheaper and easier.

How many teeth are on the PTI spur? It should be standard pitch.

Ditch the Tamiya pinion and get some Losi 48P pinions. They are made of steel and run really smooth. Robinson Racing makes some nice pinions and with them you can get a 12 tooth, 48 pitch pinion.
