Default Centered plastic housing.

Hello all.

I'm looking for a centered plastic housing for a custom build with a 9.75" or 10" width.

I'm not set on any brand, so shoot what you would think would be best! Although I would rather have a good looking housing than not.

Cheers Jacob.

SSD Dana 60's that use the SCX10 axles is both centered and very scale looking.

Do you know the hex to hex width of the ssd axles? I'm looking for 9.5"-10"

Even though I've been in the game for a while, I'm still a newb.

I don't, but its the exact same as all SCX10 axles. It's only a housing change for the SCX10 basically.

The SCX10 axle is narrow and not going to get him anywhere close to 9.5" to 10". The SCX10 axle is only 192mm / 7.56" wide.

The Wraith axle, according to information on this site, is around 9.5" wide. I know it's not a centered housing though.

The MST CFX-W axle will get you close if you don't mind portals. They aren't cheap though.

If it's wraith width. How about SSD Diamond centered axle. Have the SSD wide Diamond in my Yeti, very happy with it.
But it's made of alloy

I had Carter Fab build me a centered wraith housing about 5 years ago. Not sure if he still does it or not but I'd give it a shot.

Ok cool thanks! I'll look into that for sure!

I found that as well and I don't like the portal idea (btw looking for a rear)

I'd love to do that, but at this time I can't afford something like that. Thanks though!

Now, if anything can be added to the wish list- an offset front diffy with the same overall track width would be nice ! I know that the Axial AR60 is already offset, it just doesn't look as nice as the pumpkin design of the SSD axles.

Yes that would be nice wouldn't it ;)

These axles have big pinion bearings and have thicker tube walls than stock too. So it's not just a cosmetic upgrade.

What's the weight compared to stock? Will beef tubes fit?

This is centered so beef tubes wont fit anyway. Also it is plastic so weight difference to stock is probably not significant.

Centered front housings to match the rear would be nicer!
