Default DIY transer case for scx10

Have an idea for a very simple T-case but don't entirely know what I'd need to execute it. Thinking using an axial trans output gear and a pinion gear or something incased in a custom steel case. What do you guys think?

Not sure what your setup or needs are, but I like the divorced motor setup. Use the transmission as a transfer case and mount the motor up front with the spur gear flat mount. It's easy to do, you can use an upgraded allow transmission case if desired. The mounts are flat and easy to make from carbon fiber or flat scrap metal.

The GCM t-case fits the bill as compact and strong but kinda pricey.

I have seen people that have made 3D printed t-cases that use pinion gears inside similar to the GCM case, it is possible that you can find something on Shapeways or similar. Then you just have to make some gear shafts.

There are also generic t-cases on ebay that are small and decently strong for a good price.

I think I got a decent start on it. Traxxas input shaft with the threads cut off and drilled. And an axial wraith 2speed output

Toyzuki makes transfer case already that does exactly what you're trying to do. There's lots of vendors for them now.

Great options but I don't really have money so I'm just trying to use what I got

Wish I could use a smaller Guage steel but I couldn't make a better way for the bearing to sit in but for the rest it will be thinner stuff
