I like building them the most. It's sadly also the most expensive part of the hobby

When first got into the hobby I hated building/fixing but mostly because RC's were so unreliable 15-20 years ago so you were constantly breaking. That was especially the case when brushless/lipos broke unto the scene. Trucks took a couple years of teething to catch up with the durability the higher power systems delivered.

Now most vehicles are such good quality nowadays you don't have to worry about breaking mid run every other run. So working on them and seeing how new setups make a difference has become more fun for me!

Admittedly I'm a wrenching and tuning junky who mostly drives my RCs to test my latest upgrades and/or see the effects of my tuning efforts

Don't get me wrong, I do a ton of recreational driving and bashing around as I've got two pre-teen boys who enjoy the hobby and have their own vehicles (hand built and tuned by Dad, of course )

We discuss and they understand fully how their vehicles function, but I enjoy working on our RCs so much that I usually do the majority of the wrenching when they inevitably break them, but I'm constantly tinkering with their vehicles to get them to perform like I want and my boys have no input into that process

But I most certainly have far more mileage on my tools and workbench than on my RCs
