I don't think there's an "average" dimension. Just build as big as you have space for. Real garage shops vary in size, a scale shop would be no different. If you're building something modest like a normal garage build something about 1 1/2 to 2 times the size of your crawler with room for shop tools. If you're going after the dream shop look go bigger and fit all your crawlers and tools. Don't forget these are great for taking pictures of your build so add shop details, light's and maybe a removable wall or roof to get the camera low depending on what you're doing.
Getting the camera low enough to about where a person stands seems to make a big difference on making a photo look "scale realistic"

Default Scale Garage question

Google dioramas.
I've done some in 1/24th and you start with scale pictures. Height and width , transfer over. Sounds tough, it's really not. A double garage door is 20x8 or 20x10.
Easiest way to start, is make an L shaped structure, on a "concrete" base, great way to start, add accessories and detail, also works well for picture background

I really just want it for pictures and to make it look like your standing in the garage, was thinking just maybe three walls and the floor. Just needs to hold one crawler, it doesn't need to look like a real building from the outside.
