Traxxas Big Bore mounting tip

I've switched our (me & sons) 3 trucks over to Traxxas Big Bore shocks. I'd searched / read many posts on how to mount the tops of the shocks. I ordered the ProLine Universal Shock Mounting kit, but wasn't really happy with the result. The kit didn't really provide a "ball" mounting range of motion for the upper shock mount.

I was in a hardware store recently looking for 1/8 brass pipe nipple to use for XR Steering Mod and seen 1/8" compression fittings They were like $0.25 ea and work perfect sandwiched between 2 M3 flat washers.

I use the ball mount in the pics as a stand-off to space the shock out away from the chassis to keep the springs from rubbing the frame.

Don't try and order them online, as they kill you on shipping - check your local hardware store (Lowes, HomeDepot, Rual-King, TSC, etc)

That is one solution that will not cost much. If you do a youtube search there are a number of videos on how to mod the Big Bore cap to accept a screw in rod end.

Yep, I've seen those and got a bunch of rod ends I could use, but really wanted to try to find another method short of the cap mod. I'm super pleased so far, for $1.00 cost.
