Yup....... my Wraith is a heavy rig. When crawling many times I slip down, when stopped. Do I need to increase my drag brake, or the overall brake ?? Hang up and Drive |

Why not max out the drag brake anyway and then see if you need to touch the brake force?

What's your drag brake now? If you come to a stop and starts to roll, you'll need to increase the drag brake. Adjusting the brake, is when your not running drag brake and actually use the brake to slow down. Its personal preference but I actually learned to use the roll to my advantage. You'll have to adjust your driving style though. I know the newest firmware on the X series actually fixes this problem. Some times after you've stopped, and started to creep a little then stop, the drag brake wouldnt hold your rig and start to roll. Sounds like what your talking about. |

Was set to 100% drag,30% brake switched up to 213% crawler drag, 30% regular seems better now, will check on the rocks. My worry is heat generated by too much brake |

My Wraith is pretty heavy as well. Right under 10lbs with 3s 5000mah pack. I enabled Holmes Hold on my BR-XL and found it to be too much for me. Went back to 90% drag and it works great.

If you are in crawler reverse mode, the brake setting is irrelevant. I usually have my drag brake set around 30% because like 84yota mentioned, I prefer the rig has the ability to roll a slight amount.

Yup, I run mine at 30% as well. It comes down to terrain though too. If you have huge rock faces, the 30% is perfect to roll down.
