Default Losi Night Crawler SE (Pseudo-Scaler)

https://www.horizonhobby.com/product...rtr-los03015t1

I like it for an entry level $300-ish fun crawler rig.

The tires look really small. But I still like the worm drive axles

I can see the appeal for $300, but is it just a LNC with Twin Hammer's wheels, Ascender tires, and a goofy looking exocage? As in; you could just throw some 2.2"s on it and have a decent crawler? I see the LNC is still available on Horizon's site for $270, but it's listed as "outlet price", I thought they had been discontinued a couple years ago?

The Losi Comp Crawler is discontinued. The Losi Night Crawler is still around to some capacity, I believe.

I think it looks cool. Definitely gives the LCC/LNC a more modern and appealing look.

I think it would look better as a 1.9 scaler with a shorter wheelbase and the ESC off the rear axle or with 2.2s as a scale-ish crawler. The in-between thing is kinda weird looking but potential is there.

The body completely changes the look of the Night Crawler but it is still a really capable truck underneath. Hopefully Losi will keep this version around for a while.

side view is decent
skinny front/rear width kills it.

What's that mean? Losi keeps anything worth while around.

Damn I haven't see a Cliff Climber in a while. It does look like a new take on a Cliff Climber. I see why you said that.

maybe losi will bring back some of the hop-up parts for these rigs. i have a hoard of losi axles, trans' and i need upgrades.
i could definitely see myself using the body for something.

As a long time large liker of my Losi LCC, I think this thing looks totally terrible.

the only thing I would take from this is the axles. maybe the body and exo cage. it is ugly, but would be an awesome start for a body for class 3. scrap the plastic cage and build up your own exo cage or run a cage on the inside. but even then... not many will sell because out of the box its still to slow for the new trail basher kid.

they would need to put a better electronics combo in it and maybe revert back to aluminum links like the comp crawler to get more peoples attention and not have to come back out with yet another version.

Gotta say I'm disappointed in the looks, they should have gone with the single seater buggy look before this weird truck thing.

Opinions wanted here for a noob
What are your opinons on someone getting one of these just to add to their collection of vehicles? Not scale vehicles, just RC cars in general, something just to mess around with. Do you think getting something like this just to mess around with is a waste of money, would it get old real quick and end up on the shelf? I thought about getting one just mess around in the back yard.

Pretty much what it sounds like. Good night look at the used micro prices. Unfortunately the quality for the last several losi mini/micro vehicles we’ve bought has been disappointing.

At the end of the day, if you think you'll have fun with it, go for it. But, $300 seems a bit steep to me for a vehicle you just wanna mess around with. At $300, there are a lot of other options out there. And ironically, I'm a Losi guy.

Needs a fj45 body (I'm not a yota fan either) on the outside of the cage and chassis rails not a tvp.

Neat concept but missed the mark for me. Think the body/cage would fit a barrage nicely tho. Hmmm?

Cage and body not to badly priced

I think we need to keep in perspective the fact that Losi isn't relying on our small group of buyers on RCC to support this. I know we all have our thoughts on what is cool and what fits into our small niche on here. Much like Traxxas, Losi is targeting the "first RC market that has no idea what a nicely set up rock crawler even looks like". I think that just the fact that they are working on something different for the crawler is a plus! I'm a little bias because they are still using the "worm axles and I make a XR Steering upgrades for them"
