| Put this on an RC The tires transform is just two seconds and the vehicles doesn't have to stop. https://www.popularmechanics.com/mil...ws&date=062618 |

They're cool, but I don't exactly understand the need for them unless the gearing changes when it switches to round tires.

| Re: Put this on an RC Agreed. Additionally, the lack of an air filled tire is going to make that "wheel" very susceptible to impact damage, requiring low speed use only. If you're staying at low speeds, the track style format works fine and I see little reason to convert to the wheel style.

agree. You are adding complexity vs either style, wheel or track, with no real benifit that I can see..... Would be neat for sure, but not that usefull....

They are neat. I think the usefulness of them in the application shown is using the track for soft ground (more surface area so they don't sink in) and the tire for general driving conditions (high speed on road, low speed off road - the track setup would experience excessive wear and lower efficiency in these general driving conditions). As far as application in RC, I don't think they are very useful. Edit: Just watched the video and this is what they said ;) Last edited by 12sad5; 06-27-2018 at 08:23 AM. |
